Abigail Scallan, LPC Associate
Abigail is passionate about helping people through the hardest moments of their lives and their relationships. Abigail loves working with people who are hurting, finding ways to lift them up and so they can find their path again. In particular, she deeply enjoys working with couples who want to improve their communication, increase intimacy, and bring joy back in their relationship.
Abigail also works extensively with adults and teens struggling with the effects of trauma, depression, anxiety and OCD. She has extensive experience in both this and in working with teenagers who are struggling with life transitions, conflicts at home, and a search for identity and purpose.
Abigail has a passion for helping others understand and accept themselves while encouraging positive changes in both thought patterns and belief systems. Abigail will come alongside you to learn about your personal values and beliefs, what your goals are, and then empower you to make changes you want to make at your own pace. She will help you to make meaning of each situation and relationship in a holistic way that will honor those values and beliefs. To this end, she employs trauma-informed techniques such as CPT and somatic mindfulness as well as CBT and DBT.
Abigail’s clients often fit the following descriptions:
- Couples navigating infidelity, ineffective patterns of communication patterns, growing pains in the relationship, or the effects of trauma on a marriage
- Teenagers struggling with self-harm, anxiety, depression, or issues at home with parents or friends
- Individuals navigating PTSD symptoms as a result of trauma
